DON DUCHARME
Born in the Ottawa Valley in 1942, Don was the 5th of 10 children, born to Regina and Fred Ducharme. He grew up in a country music family with his father Fred who played the fiddle and two uncles who played the guitar and banjo. He has always loved traditional country music and strives to keep it alive.

At the age of 15, Don formed a duo with his best friend Moe Latreille playing clubs in Hull, Quebec. They covered Everly Brothers hits and other traditional country music songs.

In 1961, at the age of 19, Don married and moved to Burlington, Ontario where he still resides with his wife Wilda. In the years following he was a lead singer in several bands including the Kinfolk and the Country Squires. He played at local hotels, legions, dances and weddings.

As a long distance truck driver his love of being a professional musician was superseded by a devotion to his family but he never lost the passion of country music. Don has enjoyed playing whenever he can and hopes to bring pleasure to anyone that listens to him sing.

C.C.M.R. welcomes Don to our Reunion and Jamboree this year. It will be his first time at our event and I’m sure each of you will enjoy his delivery of good old traditional country music.
