Johnny was one of the founding members of C.C.M.R. and although he hasn’t sat on the board for quite a while he is still extremely supportive of the aims and goals of the organization. He truly believes in the concept of a reunion of musicians, once a year, where they can meet up, play, jam, sing and just get reacquainted.

Johnny Burke is a Legend in Canadian Country Music circles and is it seems he has never really been acknowledged or rewarded for his many years singing traditional country music. We, at C.C.M.R. truly appreciate him.

He once was a regular at the famous Toronto country music establishment, The Horseshoe Tavern, in Toronto, where he played with some of the finest in Canadian country music as well as the best of Nashville. He has devoted his life to keeping this music alive.

A few years ago he was honoured to be inducted into the New Brunswick Country Music Hall of Fame.
