Kevin was born November 11, 1991 in Orangeville, Ontario.
He comes from a musical family. His Grandpa, Dad and Uncle have a band called MIDNIGHT SPECIAL, which was formed more than twenty years ago.
In July 2005 he won 2nd over-all at the Canadian Open Singing Contest in Simcoe, Ontario.
August 2005 Kevin wowed the audience at the CCMR in Trenton as he took to the stage as a solo performer. The host had to bring him back for an encore because the applause just would not stop. He played in the watering corral all weekend, sometimes solo, and often with his Dad and Grandfather. There had been so many requests to have him on the show again that he was booked to be on Main Stage at the 2006 CCMR event once more. Labour Day Weekend of 2005 Kevin was a guest, with his Dad and Grandfather, as MIDNIGHT SPECIAL at the 1st Annual Colborne Jamboree.
On July 1st, 2007, He won the “ SHELBOURNE IDOL Contest. On SEPT 1st, 2007, he won 2nd Place at the Orangeville Fair in a singing competition and 3rd place in October 2007 in the Erin Fall Fairear 2008 will be a great year for Kevin.
March 1st and 2nd of 2008 Kevin tried out for the “CANADIAN IDOL” at Hamilton Place in Hamilton, Ontario. He got his Gold Card and placed in the top 75, however that was the end of that journey. We wish Kevin continued success as he forges ahead and I'm sure he'll try out for "Canadian Idol" in the future and be more successful next time.
He was on the stage for the first time at 6 months old (in his daddy’s arms, of course).
At the age of 5, he did a Father/Son act in Marysville, Ontario where he sang his first song all by himself.
At the age of 10 he got his first guitar for his birthday and started taking lessons at Acoustic Traditions in Fergus, Ontario.
At the age of 11, he took voice lessons from Jenny Pomerleau in Grand Valley and astounded his teacher, family and friends at the end of the year recital with his style and confidence.
At 12, while Kevin was in grade eight, he was the first child in Dufferin County to be advanced into a grade twelve guitar class at the neighbouring high school in Shelburne. Kevin started high school in September, 2005 where he is now in Grade 12.
Kevin graduated grade eight in June 2005 and performed at the ceremonies which ended with Kevin winning the Top Music Award.
He loves to sing and play the guitar. He donates his free time once a month performing for the residents at Highland Manor, Retirement Home in Fergus.
His most recent accomplishment was to win a talent show at his high school. There were 56 different acts/dancers/bands, etc., competing, and Kevin won $100. for First Place.
Kevin continues to play with his family's band, now a full-fledged member. He has featured with the band for the past several years in the Shelburne Fiddle Parade and the show following.
In September 2004, Kevin wrote his first song called "The Dream", and it has recently been recorded. He has a ten song demo CD which he has available for sale at the jamborees.
He sings on Jam Night at the Commercial Tavern in Mary Hill, Ontario with Paul and Sue Weber.
We are very excited to welcome Kevin back this year (2008) to play the Main Stage at CCMR on Friday evening, August 1st.
